About Nicky - Martha's Makery founder

A pharmacist by profession, Nicky has also loved her craft box of fabric, paper, scissors and glue ever since she was a very young girl. In her spare time over the years she has completed many projects from patchwork quilts to wedding cakes to metal lanterns.  

She never claims to be an expert in any particular craft but has spent years practising and perfecting techniques.  In her family and professional roles she has realised she has the “teacher” gene and delights in passing on her hints, tips and knowledge, helping others flourish. 

Her thrifty habits have meant she’s often the first port of call for friends and family needing  that “something” she didn’t throw away as she knew it would be needed one day! She’s also able to see a raw material, tool or adornment in the most benign everyday objects.

Someone who has always loved organising events and going the extra mile to make it feel special she was first told over 20 years ago she was a great host. She’s worked collaboratively on many projects since then both professionally and personally and enjoys them as much as ever. 

It’s therefore a wonder its taken her this long to combine all this together and create Marthas Makery.
